MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- A century-old historic landmark in Coconut Grove is getting a makeover.
The Kampong -known for its lush greenery and beautiful scenery- in the heart of a historic neighborhood is now the site of works from various designers.
More than 20 interior designers are bringing it back to its former glory and starting April 7th the public will be privy to its revamped look.
Inspiration for their new designs came from fascinating items right on the property - tropical fruit and flowering trees.
But it wasn't just the designers that took part. Volunteers with the Junior League of Miami along with countless donors and product purveyors took part in the revamp of the former home of Dr. David and Marian Fairchild.
The spot will have newly renovated kitchen and bathrooms, upgraded appliances and fixtures.
The public will be able to visit the revamped Kampong start April 7th through April 24th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
