MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Republican rivals Donald Trump and Ted Cruz continue their war of words but it's not about the issues and that has GOP leaders calling for a more civil campaign.

Cruz fired back at Trump Thursday after the billionaire retweeted a picture insulting the appearance of his wife.

"Donald, you're a sniveling coward. Leave Heidi the hell alone," said Cruz.

Trump claims Cruz started the fight when an anti-Trump Super PAC -posted a picture of his wife, Melania.

On the Democratic side, front-runner Hillary Clinton is focused on the general election.

"I look forward to debating him and seeing where he stands on issues," said Clinton.

On the campaign trail Thursday, her rival Bernie Sanders also turned his attention to Trump.

"He will not become president because the American people understand that coming together as a people always Trumps dividing us up," said Sanders.

Democrats hold caucuses in Alaska, Hawaii and Washington this weekend.

Recent polls show Trump leading Cruz among women Republican primary voters. His favorability with women overall stands at just 19 percent.
