Woman Attacked By Craigslist Roommate Wakes From Coma

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - A woman who was reportedly attacked by a roommate she found on Craigslist has made some progress.

On Facebook Danielle Jones' mother, Aimee Nikolov, posted that her daughter woke up from her coma, was responding to commands and could even give a thumbs up when asked.

"She is still on a feeding tube but we're hoping that she will soon pass a swallow test so she can be weaned off of it and eat on her own. She also still has to have her trach," said Nikolov in a statement.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help pay for Danielle's medical bills.

Jones alleged attacker, 35-year old Byron Mitchell, has been charged with attempted murder. He's being held without bond.
