FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) -- A news reporter has alleged that she was battered at a Donald Trump press conference in Jupiter by a campaign staffer.

Breitbart reporter Michelle Fields filed criminal charges with the Jupiter Police Department Friday.

At the press event, media swarmed Trump and during an attempt to ask him a question, the 28-year-old reporter said she was forcibly grabbed by the arm and yanked so hard that it caused bruising.

Breitbart and The Washington Post originally reported that Fields was grabbed by Trump's campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski.

She posted photos of her bruised arm on social media after Lewandowski denied the incident taking place.

Trump's campaign has vehemently denied Lewandowski grabbed Fields.

On Friday, Breitbart backed away from that allegation and posted a story saying Fields' was likely grabbed by another man who looks similar to Lewandowski.

However, more angles of the incident have begun circulating that shows Lewandowski and Fields in close proximity, with Lewandowski reaching out in her direction as Trump passes by.

Audio was also recorded as things unfolded. The video begins with Fields attempting to ask her question, "Mr. Trump, you went after the late Scalia for affirmative action, do you -- are you still against affirmative action?"

An investigation is underway.
