MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Outraged that another young person has lost their life to a senseless shooting, residents of one Miami neighborhood staged a rally to send a message to the rest of the community.

The rally was held at the Sugar Hill Apartments, at 14th Avenue and NW 71st Street, where 17-year old David Goulbarne was shot and killed Wednesday night.

The following morning Miami-Dade Superintendent Alberto Carvalho urged the whole community to take part in finding a solution to gun violence.

"Not withstanding the great work that law enforcement is doing a lot more needs to be done, both at a political level in terms of community leadership, in terms of the participation of the residents of our community," said Carvalho.

Officers said Goulbarne was walking to the store along NW 71st Street with his cousins when someone shot at them. Goulbarne's sister Daniesha said there was a car waiting for them and someone from inside of it got out and started shooting. She said her brother was hit several times.

"The victim was able to run across the street to a nearby apartment complex, where he collapsed," said police spokeswoman Robin Pinkard.

Goulbarne was taken to the Ryder Trauma Center where he was pronounced dead.

"He was funny, he was loving and caring," said Daniesha.

Just blocks away, another teen was injured in a second shooting.

Dequan Gordon, 16, was on the front porch of a home at 7550 NW 19th Avenue talking with 21-year old Kawaski Sams when someone walked up and started shooting at them.

"Some dude in all black came up and started shooting at us," said Sams. "When I looked up, I just saw him pointing a gun at us so we just took off running."

Gordon, who was hit in the leg, was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital where he was listed as stable.

"He's doing okay right now. He's scared, he's shaken up," said Gordon's father Alonzo.

Late Thursday evening, Miami-Dade police arrested 20-year-old Antwon Gilbert for shooting at Gordon and Sams.  He's facing attempted murder charges.

Gordons' family said the shooting was the result of a Facebook feud and they believe the gunfire is related to the one that killed Goulbarne.

The double shooting came on the same day that police announced the arrest of two teens in the shooting death of 6-year old King Carter in Miami.

Leonard Adams, 18, and Irwen Pressley, 17, are facing attempted first degree murder and second degree murder charges.

The shooting was the result of a fight on social media between Adams, Pressley and a third person named 'Ju Ju'.

Saturday afternoon Adams and Pressley drove to an apartment complex at 1205 NW 103rd Lane "with the sole purpose of finding 'Ju Ju' and killing him," according to their arrest reports.

When they spotted him in a stairwell, they began shooting at him, according to police. 'Ju Ju' fired back. Carter, who was caught in the crossfire, was killed.

Police are still looking for the third person, 'Ju Ju', and an early 2000 black Lexus with possible bullet holes in connection to the case.
