DAVIE (CBSMiami) -- Flower shops see a lot of green every Valentine's Day but one shop in particular says business is really "blooming."

At Field of Flowers in Davie, the lover's holiday has pushed their estimates to more than 60,000 roses sold.

On Saturday, the shop was as busy as you'd expect. Some last-minute shoppers shared their secrets to a happy Valentine's Day.

"Been married for almost 30 years, ya know? So I got a lot of colors," said Kevin, who was shopping for something special for his wife.

CBS4's Silva Harapetian asked him what his secret is to making sure she's happy on Valentine's Day.

"Treat her good the other 364," he laughed.

But it's not just men in the store.

"I couldn't leave without sending flowers. Bringing flowers to my mother, my daughter, to wake them up with this beautiful arrangement," said Gabriela Perez.

For the store's owner, days like this remind him why his family has been in this business for the past 100 years.

"Usually people are really, really happy to be getting some flowers. Whether it's a sad occasion that's gonna cheer them up or whether it's an anniversary, birthday or Valentine's Day," said Donn Flipse, owner of Field of Flowers.

The store said on Saturday they did 4,000 deliveries alone.
