MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A Florida International University college student who vanished Monday after leaving work has been found safe.

Karen Wright, 21, was found by family members near 182nd Street and Biscayne Boulevard early Wednesday. They said was taken to a hospital to be checked out.

Wright's parents contacted police after she left her job on Brickell; leaving her car, purse and wallet behind. They said a security guard at an office building in Aventura near NE 29th Avenue and 191st Street found her work badge Tuesday morning. He told them she was sleeping in the cold outside the building and he ordered her to leave.

"We're concerned that she's alone on the street, maybe a little disoriented," explained her worried stepfather, Rene Diaz, Tuesday afternoon. "She hasn't contacted anybody, she's not talking to any friends, she didn't tell anyone she was thinking of just walking away from my job and not calling in after never missing a day of work."

Wright is supposed to graduate from FIU in May with a major in Marketing. Her parents said she was working two jobs to get her own apartment and had been acting strange lately, increasingly isolating herself.
