MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami-Dade police are searching for a missing couple who they said may be in need of help.

Alexandra Picon and Brandon Arana, both 21, were reportedly last seen on January 31st.

"This is out of her character. She has never done this before – to disappear for more than a few hours without sending me a text and trying not to worry me. It's totally out of her character," said Rita Picon, Alexandra's mother.

According to detectives, the two were having drinks at the Cadillac Ranch inside The Palms at Town & Country on the night they disappeared.

Alexandra Picon's car, a 2014 red 4-door Toyota Corolla with tag number AGGI88, was last spotted going through a toll plaza on the Florida Turnpike near Bird Road.

"I am waiting for you with my open arms, I just want you home. We all love you, need you. My life is nothing without you. Please come home, please," said Rita Picon.

Anyone with information on the couple's whereabouts is asked to call the Miami-Dade Police Department, Special Victims Bureau/Missing Persons Squad at (305) 418-7200 or Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS (8477).
