Police: Miami Officer Hurt, Sideswiped In Turnpike Crash

PLANTATION (CBSMiami) -- A City of Miami Police officer is recovering after a car accident on Sunday.

It happened in the southbound lanes of the turnpike in Plantation.

Police said the officer was on her way to work when another vehicle side-swiped her, causing the officer to veer and strike a barrier wall.

The officer was taken to Plantation Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver was cited for failing to drive within a single lane.
