Family Holds Vigil For Man Gunned Down Over Parking Spot

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A gunman is on the run as the family of a man he shot and killed, seemingly because of a parking space, asked for justice.
Dozens of family and friends of Jackson Solis cried and prayed at a candlelight vigil Saturday night on the very spot where someone shot Solis less than 24 hours earlier.
The shooting happened Saturday just before 3 a.m. across from "El Secreto" nightclub on NW 7th street and 17th place near Marlins Park.
Relatives told CBS4 reporter Donna Rapado 33-year-old Solis worked for Miami-Dade County, he was the father of a 10-year old boy and he was a very kind, loving young man.
"It was a quarrel over a parking spot," said a man identifying himself only as Martin. He was going to the club with Solis and Solis's brother, both close friends of Martin's.
"As I'm coming in, I see them arguing. It was a dark pickup truck," he said. "I went inside instead of helping my brother and he got shot man."
"We see another guy like honking and we're like, 'what's going on?'," explained Miguel Marena, also going to the nightclub. "Next thing we know the guy gets out the car and it didn't look good from then."
Rescue rushed Solis to the hospital, but he didn't make it.
"It looked like it was over a parking space," said Marena. "It definitely looked like it wasn't worth it. For all the spots that are out here. It just wasn't worth it for a parking space."
Miami police believe the shooter was in a dark colored pickup truck, possibly a Ford F-150.
