Stormy Weather Leads To Gorgeous Weekend

Follow CBSMIAMI.COM: Facebook | Twitter

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - After a stormy Wednesday, especially in Broward where a tornado hit Coconut Creek in the morning, more periods of storms are likely tonight and tomorrow.

Wednesday's storms are due to plenty of moisture out ahead of a cold front on the way along with an area of low pressure over the Gulf of Mexico.

Some of these storms will have heavy downpours, gusty winds and will cause flooding.

Stay alert for flooded roads Wednesday night and tomorrow. Also be prepared to seek safe shelter if severe weather warnings are issued the next 24 hours.

The weather system responsible for this stormy pattern will move out by Friday, with mostly sunny skies for Friday into Saturday.

Clouds will increase again on Sunday for the chili cook-off but any rain will likely hold off until Monday.

Highs will be mostly in the mid-70s the next several days with nighttime lows in the 60s and cooling down into the 50s by Saturday night and Sunday night.
