MIAMI (CBSMiami) - A wanted fugitive who led police on a chase through the streets of South Florida on Monday has been arraigned.

Miami-Dade circuit Judge Mindy Glazer set bond at $47,000 for Andy Leonard Ulysse, Tuesday morning.

She then ordered that he be held without bond because of a warrant out of Georgia for his arrest. Ulysse, 33, is wanted there for reportedly using women to lure men to hotel rooms so he could rob them at gunpoint.

Ulysse was picked up Monday morning near Haulover Park. As he was being taken from a substation to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, police said, he managed to kick his way out of the cruiser while in handcuffs on the Palmetto Expressway near the 36th Street exit. He then tried to make a run for it.

After he jumped off a 15-foot embankment from the expressway and Ulysse ran to a nearby hotel where he took an airport van that had been left running. He then led police on a short chase which came to an end in front of a Walgreen's on Walgreens on NW 41st Street and 97th Avenue.

During the chase, police said Ulysse hit a Sweetwater Police vehicle and side-swiped a pedestrian. Fortunately, that pedestrian is okay.

Ulysse will be extradited to Georgia to face armed robbery and kidnapping charges. Police are also looking into whether he may be connected to a murder in Ohio.
