MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Grab your raincoat, forecasts are calling for a very wet Friday.

Showers in the afternoon are expected to give way to thunderstorms, some of which could contain damaging winds and flooding rain.

The greatest risk of severe thunderstorms will be between 3:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

It'll be warm and humid through the early part of the afternoon with a cold front moving in later in the day. CBS4 Meteorologist John Gerard says that will be the trigger for some of those stronger storms.

It will also be a windy day. Skies will clear by Friday evening and Saturday should be a beautiful day with lots of sun and highs in the upper 70's.

More showers and thunderstorms are likely on Sunday.
