DADE CITY (CBSMiami/AP) — A woman whose husband was shot and killed inside a Tampa Bay area movie theater has filed a wrongful death lawsuit which names the theater, its developer and one of its employees.

According to the lawsuit filed in Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Court in Dade City, Nicole Oulson claims she suffered physical, psychological and economic damage. She wants more than $15,000 and a jury trial.

In 2014, Chad Oulson was shot and killed during an argument over texting during movie previews. The accused of pulling the trigger, 73-year old Curtis Reeves, has been charged with second degree murder for Oulson's death and aggravated battery for shooting Nicole Oulson in the hand.

The lawsuit says Cobb Theaters and an employee at the Wesley Chapel movie theater failed to enforce the company's prohibition on weapons.

Reeves plans to invoke Florida's "stand your ground" self-defense law to have the charges dismissed at a hearing in April or May.
