MIAMI (CBSMiami) — Yellow police tape cordoned off the front of a North Miami cell phone store Monday morning as police investigated a robbery.

Chopper 4 over the scene spotted half a dozen or more police vehicles in front of the CB Wireless store located in a strip mall plaza at 11918 NW 7th Avenue.

Shellie Gonzalez, who works at a flower shop in the strip mall, said one of the barbers from the Black and White Barbershop, next to the wireless store, heard a commotion and went to see what was going on.

"One of the barbers, he heard all this noise, screaming and running," said Gonzalez. "When he opened the door, he saw these two two guys was hitting him (wireless store clerk). He was on the floor and they were hitting him."

The sudden appearance of the barber startled the two robbers who took off with an undetermined amount of cash.

Investigators are checking to see if the same two people were responsible for a nearby carjacking. Detectives say it happened after the robbery on NW 116 Terrace. In that case, two men pulled a gun on a man in a car, broke his window, ordered him out and took off in the vehicle.

Both the carjacking victim and the store clerk are expected to be all right.
