Missing Florida Child Found Safe With Older Brother

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Authorities have found a 10-year-old child that had been reported missing.

Police said Anthony Bermudez-Hernandez was in the company of his older brother and a lack of communication between the family led to the confusion.

"Apparently, this is just one of those situations where you have divorced parents. And one child lives with one parent and one lives with the other one. And the older brother apparently came to spend some time with his younger brother and basically took him with him without telling the mom," said Det. Fernando Morales of Homestead Police.

The siblings were found not long after the search got started.

"Very quickly they were located and everything is straightened out. There are detectives talking to all, making sure that everything was okay, which is our job. And at that time, many determinations that will need to be made will be made by the detectives," said Morales.
