BROWARD (CBSMiami) – Cameras captured an armed thief's "finger licking good" heist at a Broward County restaurant in December.

Security tape rolled as the robber, who was dressed in total black, made his way into the Kentucky Fried Chicken at the busy intersection of West Sunrise Boulevard and 31st Street.

The thief then slid across the counter, leaving his backpack behind as a he pulled a gun on an employee.

The employee told him he couldn't open the registers.

In a swift move, the armed robber heads to the drive-up window and forces the manger to open the registers.

"He proceeds to take out all the money and stuffs it into a Jordan backpack, gun in hand the whole time," said Broward Sheriff's Office spokesperson Keyla Concepcion.

This December 22nd incident was a classic armed robbery. The suspect moved quickly, but methodically – stuffing the cash into the backpack.

In total, it took him only 60 seconds to hit up the restaurant. He was out the door before many customers realized what had happened.

"Seeing someone dressed all in black, face covered, gloves in hand. That is something that will catch someone attention," said Concepcion.

That attention had to be quick, as cameras captured him sprinting across the parking lot – totally disappearing into the late December night.

According to the FDLE, Broward County had 878 armed robberies in 2014. That's an average of 2.4 a day.

While 2015's numbers aren't out just yet, you can certainly add this one to the robbery bucket.

If you have any information that can help authorities, you are urged to contact Broward Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-8477.
