FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – Authorities are investigating a deadly discovery in a Fort Lauderdale neighborhood.

Fort Lauderdale police said they received an anonymous call around 3:15 p.m. about two men dead behind a building at NE 13th Street and 3rd Avenue.

Chopper4 was over the scene where police activity could be seen in the afternoon hours.

Two bicycles were spotted in the area where police found the bodies.

Late Tuesday night, authorities confirmed the two dead men were shot.

Family members of Markinson Joseph told CBS4 News that they fear the 18 year old is one of the deceased.

His sister, who did not want to show her face, said he was happy young man who loved computers and was finishing up high school had a bright future.

"He made people laugh," said Fedeline.

His sister said Markinson's mother is barely holding together.

"She gotta bury her child, so she's sad," Fedeline said.

The bodies were found near the spot of the murder of Robert Regan last October. Regan was reportedly harassed in the days before his death after he informed police about drug dealers in the community. Regan's murder remains unsolved.

Police said that at this moment they have no indication that the situation Tuesday is connected to Regan's homicide.

Donna Collins said the community worked hard since Regan's murder to clean up the area.

"Today it's a little sad and a step back because we're hearing something happening on this very bad corner," Collins said.

As crime scene investigators carried away evidence bags, police searched for answers.

Markinson Joseph's family wants answers too.

"I just want them to come forward," said Fedeline. "Why did you do that?"

If you have any information about these deaths, you are urged to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS (8477).
