BOYNTON BEACH (CBSMiami) - A Lantana woman has been charged in an armed carjacking Sunday night.

A 25-year old Boynton Beach woman told police she was in the Walmart on Old Boynton Road around 10:30 p.m. when she realized she had left her wallet inside her car. When she went out into the parking lot to get it, police say she was approached by 24-year old Euvenslada Lopez.

The woman told police Lopez pushed an unknown object against her side and implied that it was a gun. She said she told Lopez to take it all and then ran back toward the store, screaming for help.

Lopez sped out of the parking lot in the woman's BMW but didn't get very far, according to police.

Witnesses were able to provide officers with a description of Lopez and which directions she was headed when she left. Police located her exiting I-95 at Boynton Beach Boulevard. Officers gave chase for a short time but due to heavy rain and unsafe road conditions, they called it off.

Lantana Police located the BMW, occupied by Lopez, at 320 Pine Street. The woman positively identified Lopez as the woman who had assaulted her.

Lopez was arrested and charged with carjacking with a firearm or weapon.
