DALLAS (CBSMiami/AP) — They say everything is bigger in Texas. Well, for Republican presidential contender Marco Rubio, he hopes the support for his campaign is huge when he makes a stop in Dallas.
The Florida senator announced plans Tuesday to hold a rally in Dallas on Jan. 6. He has already made a handful of fundraising swings across the state since launching his campaign for the GOP nomination.
Rubio is ending this year with stops in Iowa, where recent polls show him to be usually a distant third behind Donald Trump and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. The Iowa caucuses are Feb. 1.
The Texas primary elections are March 1.
