Police Identify Would-Be Robber Shot, Killed In Miramar Restaurant

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Authorities have identified a would-be robber who was shot and killed Wednesday night in a Miramar restaurant.

The armed and masked man stormed into the Captain Max Seafood restaurant at SW 38th Street and State Road 441 just before 6 p.m.

A restaurant employee started arguing with him.

According to police, there was an exchange of gunfire between the employee and gunman. The robber was shot and killed. The worker was not hit.

There were customers in the restaurant at the time of the shooting but they were not hurt.

Miarmar police identified the deceased suspect as 26-year-old Roosevelt Jones of Miami.

Detectives believe a second person may have also been involved in the robbery attempt.

Miramar police caution the public against taking matters into their own hands.
