CORAL SPRINGS (CBSMiami) --  A South Florida pet owner was reunited with her puppy after she was stolen.

For Cassandra Ruise, 24 hours away from Lily, the 4-month old poodle puppy, was agony.

Just a day before, surveillance cameras rolled as a 13-year old boy who has friends in the neighborhood was seen in the neighboring backyard while the victim was inside her Coral Springs home located at 4100 block of NW 78th Lane.

At one point, the juvenile is seen reaching over the chain link fence and playing with the puppy, picking her up and walking off with her in hand.

Police said the 13 year old boy admitted to doing it. Investigators said the boy's mother turned him in.

"To violate somebody's space like that. It's just an invasion of your privacy," said Ruise.

Ruise said Lily actually belongs to her 23 year old sister who is mentally disabled.

"The dog is her child basically," said Ruise.

Ruise said she doesn't plan to pursue criminal charges against the teen.

"I'm glad his mom stepped up to do the right thing and hopefully she'll take it in her hands to make sure he doesn't do anything like this again," said Ruise.

Ruise said she planned to take Lily to her sister's workplace Monday afternoon so they could be reunited.
