Boca Man Killed Crossing Street In New York

LONG ISLAND, N.Y. (CBSMiami/AP) — An 82-year-old Florida man was fatally struck by a car as he crossed a Long Island street, according to police.

Nassau County police said Theodore Schiffman, of Boca Raton, was crossing an expressway in Lawrence Friday afternoon when he was hit by a car.

Schiffman was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead a few hours later.

The driver of the car remained at the scene and has not been charged.
