MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Crime scene technicians labored for hours sorting out a murder-suicide in a Miami neighborhood.

City of Miami Police called in their SWAT unit early Wednesday afternoon to enter a home on NW 30th St.

When SWAT engaged, they weren't sure what they were going to find. Eventually officers discover two bodies – a mother and a son.

A daughter had come to check on her mother and "what she found was devastating."

"Found her mother in a pool of blood. She found her brother sitting in an adjacent room with a hand gun," said Miami Police spokesperson Kenia Fallat.

The two dead have been identified as 71-year-old Concepcion Lo-Hol-Fitz and her son, 43-year-old Roberto Jose Reyes.

Reyes did have a concealed weapons permit.

"Very sad, very sad. I mean for a son to kill his mother. You know it is kind of sad," said neighbor Millie Saurez.

Police are treating this as a murder suicide.

"We tell people if you feel uncertain about something, uncomfortable, pick up that phone and we will get that help out to you," said Fallat.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471- TIPS (8477).
