Some Stores Hoping To Cash In On "Gray Thursday"

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Retailers hoping to cash in on "Gray Thursday," better know to the rest of us as Thanksgiving Day, will be open and offering doorbuster deals to lure in early season shoppers who just can't wait for Black Friday.

J.C. Penny will get the ball rolling by opening at 3 p.m. on Thursday. They're offering deals on everything from diamonds to drones.

At 4 p.m., the doors will open at Old Navy, Brandsmart USA and Michaels. An hour later, shoppers can hit Best Buy and Toys R Us.

At 6 p.m., doors open at Macy's, Kohl's, Target, Sears, Office Depot, Sports Authority and Wal-Mart.

While the stores may be open they malls they are in may not be - each one is different.

For example, Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise will open at 6 p.m. on Thursday as will Aventura Mall, Dolphin Mall, Boynton Beach Mall and Town Center at Boca Raton.

The Broward Mall in Plantation has decided to sit this year out and will be closed on Thursday and open at 5 a.m. on Friday. The Galleria Mall in Ft. Lauderdale will also remain closed on Thanksgiving and open at 8 a.m. on Friday.

Also taking Thanksgiving off are Costco, BJ's, Publix, GameStop, Hobby Lobby, Nordstroms, Sam's Club, Staples, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, and HomeGoods.
