Fire Forces Nearly A Hundred Patients From Rehab Center

DEERFIELD (CBSMiami) -- About a hundred patients were forced to evacuate from a personal care facility Sunday due to heavy smoke and fire.

The Broward Sheriff's Office said a fire started in an air conditioning unit inside the building located at 401 East Sample Road.

Flames were quickly extinguished and no one was hurt.

Patients were allowed back inside a short while later.
