DAVIE (CBSMiami) – The Miami Dolphins are dealing with injury issues on defense, mostly at the linebacker position.

Koa Misi and Jelani Jenkins did not practice on Wednesday and their stats for Sunday's game against Dallas is unknown.

Both played last weekend in Miami's win over the Philadelphia Eagles but Jenkins injured his left ankle during the second quarter and did not return.

He was seen wearing a walking boot at the Dolphins practice facility on Wednesday.

Misi is dealing with an abdomen issue but played the entire game in Philly.

During that game, rookie linebackers Zach Vigil and Neville Hewitt played a big role in the success of Miami's defense as both were called into action.

They could find themselves back on the field again this weekend if Misi or Jenkins have to miss the game.

Second-year player Chris McCain, who was moved from linebacker to defensive end when interim coach Dan Campbell took over after Week 4, was seen practicing with the linebackers again on Wednesday.

Other injured players on the Dolphins defense, cornerback Brice McCain and linebacker Spencer Paysinger, both practiced on a limited basis, as did safety Michael Thomas.

McCain injured his knee during the Eagles game and missed the entire second half.

Paysinger missed the game due to a neck injury but his return could take some of the pressure off the rookies.

As for Miami's offense, starting right tackle Ja'Wuan James did not practice as he continues to suffer from an ankle injury.

Rookie wide receiver DeVante Parker practiced fully and was not listed on Wednesday's injury report.
