WESTON (CBSMiami) --  Two teens are under arrest, accused of  burglarizing two different Weston elementary schools in Broward County.

Preston Borges and Santiago Rendon, both 18 years old, are charged with burglary and grand theft.

In bond court on Wednesday, Borges' mother told the judge her husband is in law enforcement and she's stunned by the arrest.

"He is at FIU in his first semester and wants to be a lawyer. He is a good boy, never any trouble. I don't know where this came from," said Christa Borges.

According to the arrest report, the two burglarized two schools in the early morning hours on Tuesday.

Surveillance video captured two people dressed all in black, roaming Eagle Point Elementary school in Weston. They were later seen rushing out with backpacks.

Broward Sheriff's deputies said they were dispatched to the school after a silent alarm rang. When they arrived, they saw a white car speeding away from the school's parking lot, the report states.

When deputies caught up to the car, they said they found three laptop computers and an Epson projector inside the vehicle. They said the items had the school board asset tags stuck on the items.

Once in custody, deputies said the two admitted to burglarizing several portable buildings at Indian Trace Elementary School and Eagle Point Elementary.

Borges was given a $5,000 bond and his Florida International University classmate Rendon was ordered held on a $6,000 bond.
