MIAMI (CBSMiami) --  The search is on for a person who carjacked a vehicle outside a day care with a 5-year old boy inside in southwest Miami-Dade.

Miami-Dade Police said the car was stolen from a daycare located at 113th Avenue and Quail Roost Drive on Monday morning.

Surveillance video captured the moments as the suspected carjacker jumped into an SUV parked outside of the Kiddy Academy day care and pulled out with a child in the seat.

The video showed 25-year old Albert Sorribes driving up to the day care to drop off his twins. You see him walk inside the day care, leaving his 5-year old in the car.

Someone riding a bike was seen circling the parking lot. Eventually, the man in black ditches his wheels, gets into the running car and takes off.

A few minutes later, Sorribes is seen coming out, frantic when he realizes his car and child are gone.

Police searched the area and found the stolen car ditched just a few blocks away on 197th Street. The child was safe inside.

The boys parents rushed to the scene to be reunited with their baby.

Despite finding the child, they did not find the carjacker prompting a massive search for the culprit.

Anyone with information is urged to call Miami-Dade Crimestopppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
