MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- The small plane that crashed into a Lake Worth mobile home park had no obvious malfunctions, according to a new preliminary report released.

The Piper Cherokee crashed on October 13th, killing the pilot Dan Shalloway, 64, and Banny Galicia, 21, who was in a mobile home.

According to the Sun-Sentinel, federal investigators will now have to figure out why Shalloway lost control just minutes from landing at an airport near Lantana.

Shalloway reportedly made no distress call, but witnesses said they did see the plane make an "S" turn indicating some sort of trouble.

According to the report by the National Transportation Safety Board, "A witness observed the airplane flying overhead and watched as it made the 'S'-turn, followed by a steep right 180-degree turn and descend into a mobile home park."

The report indicates there were also no obvious problems with the engine.

The plane, owned by Flyers Inc. of Boynton Beach, had taken off from Lantana Airport.  Investigators said the last call they recieved from Shalloway was to advise he was close to final approach.

"No other communications were received from the pilot," stated the report.
