One of the most impressive features of the sneaker is its self-tying ability. The company has named them “power laces.”

The technology allows the shoe to sense the wearer’s motion to provide support.

The company also made sure that the original wearer, Michael J. Fox, had the opportunity to put on the first pair.

Nike Designer Tinker Hatfield sent a letter to Fox about the groundbreaking footwear:

The company stated on Wednesday that the 2015 Nike Mag will only be available through auction and that the money from the sale of the shoes will go to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
