MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) – Miami Beach Public Works crews worked a water main break that knocked out power to a condo complex on Wednesday.

The water break happened at 67 Street and Collins Avenue at around 7 p.m. The work required immediate water shut down, which caused an FPL outage.

Public works officials had reported at least five towers along the 6700 block of Collins area were affected.

However, FPL said only the Sterling Condominium complex was experiencing issues.

The Miami Beach Fire Department told the residents of the Sterling to boil their water until morning

"We are under boil water until the morning to play it safe," said Rosa Larue, the president of home owner association at the Sterling. "They have to pump the whole area out in order to assess the situation with the transformer before they can turn back on the power."

Water has been affected at five other addresses: 6701, 6767, 6799, 6801 and 6899 Collins Avenue.

Officials have said water should be restored at 5 a.m.
