SUNRISE (CBSMiami/AP) — The man who admitted to killing his girlfriend because she called out her ex-husband's name during sex has pleaded not guilty.

According to the Sun Sentinel, 24-year-old Fidel Lopez pleaded not guilty Monday to charges of first-degree murder and two counts of sexual battery involving great force.

Sunrise Police say Lopez called 911 last month, saying his girlfriend, Maria Nemeth, 31, was having trouble breathing.

Officers responded to the apartment to find Lopez in the bathroom next to Nemeth's disemboweled body.

Upon further questioning, police said Lopez admitted that hearing someone else's name during sex enraged him so much that he used his bare hand to rip intestinal tissue from Nemeth's vagina.
