Roberto Serrano, 60, was putting tree branches into the chipper on Monday when his arm somehow got caught in the machine and pulled half of it through, according to the Alachua County Sheriff’s office.

The Gainesville Sun reported Serrano freed himself but lost the arm up to his elbow.
