Man Escapes Vehicle Stuck On Railroad Tracks

ORANGE PARK (CBSMiami/AP) -- A close call for a Pennsylvania man who escaped injury from an approaching train after his car got stuck on the tracks.

On Monday night, Herbert Caponi, 73, managed to exit his car just as the CSX train began braking, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. His tire was apparently stuck on the railroad tracks.

Troopers said the train hit the car, pushing it across the tracks, but by that time, Caponi was a safe distance away and wasn't hurt.

He was charged with failure to obey a traffic device.
