Kelly: Dan Campbell 'is a Lion'
"While I thought Darren Rizzi was probably more qualified to be the head coach I do understand why they gave it to Dan Campbell," the Sun Sentinel's Omar Kelly said on the Joe Rose Show. "Because he is a lion and right now what you need to do is you need to put a lion in front of this army of sheep and see if they will fight for that lion."
With Rizzi being promoted to assistant head coach in addition to his duties as special teams coordinator, the team has two fiery coaches in major leadership roles.
"I've seen those two foam on the mouth chewing people out," Kelly said. "If you make a mistake and you're walking to that sideline, you know you're gonna get it and I don't think that was happening in the past with Joe Philbin."
