Dade Inmate Critically Injured In Fight

HOMESTEAD (CBSMiami/AP) - An inmate at the Dade Correctional Institution in Homestead was airlifted to the hospital after he got into a fight with another inmate.

The fight broke out early Monday afternoon at the facility at 19000 SW 377th St.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue says the man was in critical condition and was airlifted to Kendall Regional Medical Center. Officials have not released the man's name or details about his injury.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating.
