Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Train In Broward

FT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) - A second person in as many weeks has died after they were struck by a train in Broward County.
Friday morning's accident happened just before dawn on the Florida East Coast (FEC) tracks near NE 11th Avenue. A freight train struck the person who was on the tracks. Police have not said if it was a man or woman, or how they ended up on the tracks.
Crossings at busy Sunrise Boulevard, and NE 13th Street and NE 17th Court, were blocked for several hours by the stopped train for the police investigation.
Last month, on September 29th, a person was struck and killed by a TriRail train on the FEC tracks at the Dania Beach Station near Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
