MIAMI (CBSMiami) — Rescue crews rushed a man to the hospital Sunday evening with injuries from apparently getting run over by a boat.

Florida Fish and Wildlife officials said it all happened at Pace Picnic Island at around 8 p.m.

The victim was allegedly helping someone push a boat off the beach when the boat somehow ran him over, cutting him with the propellers.

Officials said he had several laceration to the back of his leg due to the incident.

Rescue crews rushed him to Ryder Trauma Center to undergo surgery. His condition is unknown at this time.

According to authorities, the relationship between the victim and the boat owner is unknown.
