MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Police are searching for a hit and run driver who struck a man early Sunday morning.

The incident took place on NW 28th Street and 22nd Avenue.

The victim, a 66-year-old male, was transported to the hospital where he later died.

The driver, a woman who has yet to be identified, fled the scene in a red Toyota according to police.

Authorities say a witness to the incident followed the woman for a few blocks.

The vehicle was found and recovered at 24th Court and NW 21st Terrace but the driver is still at large.
