Former Prison Guard Pleads Guilty Taking Bribes

OCALA (CBSMiami/AP) — A former guard at the Coleman Federal Correctional Complex in central Florida has pleaded guilty to accepting bribes.

Prosecutors say Robert Brown, 32 smuggled contraband in to inmates at the federal facility starting last January.

Brown accepted $2,600 in payments for delivering the contraband. He also told investigators he had negotiated being paid $7,100 in cash for smuggling in cell phones, prescription pills and tobacco for the inmates.

He faces up to 15 years in prison when he's sentenced.
