MIAMI (CBSMiami) —  Authorities have upped the reward for information leading to the arrest of a gunman who shot  and killed a security guard last month.

The reward has been increased from $3,000 to up to $5,000.

Miami-Dade Police are also taking to the streets on Wednesday at 8 p.m., passing out flyers at the scene of the shooting, Martin Luther King Metro rail Station.

Keith Cox, 49, was removed from life support August 29th. Just a day before, his family urged the public to come forward with any information on the gunman who killed him.

Police said the father of three and veteran was shot while working the night shift at the metro rail station on August 25th.

Investigators said they are looking for a gunman and a getaway driver who fled in a dark car.
