Trader Joe's To Open In Davie

DAVIE (CBSMiami) - Hey fans of Trader Joe's, the wait is almost over.

The California based chain's seventh store in South Florida will open this month in Davie at the Tower Shops on University Drive on October 9th.

Next month, an eighth store is scheduled to open in Ft. Lauderdale at 1590 N. Federal Highway. When it opens it will be the chain's 17 store in Florida. Trader Joe's has more than 440 stores nationwide.

The grocer, which has developed almost a cult like following, has more than 3,000 items under their Trader Joe's private label including Trader José's salsas and Trader Giotto's marinara sauces. The private label that means it's free of artificial colors, flavors, ingredients, and preservatives.

Some of the most popular are "Two Buck Chuck," bottles of wine for 2.99 a pop and Trader Joe's famous cookie butter products.
