MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Tropical Storm Danny, the fourth storm of the 2015 Atlantic season, has maintained its strengthen as it continues to trek towards the west.
At 11 p.m., the center of the system was located about 1270 miles east of the Lesser Antilles with maximum sustained winds of 50 mph.
Danny was moving toward the west near 10 mph and a track to the west-northwest is expected during the next 48 hours.
The atmosphere immediately surrounding Danny remains somewhat moist and it's forecast to strengthen into the first hurricane of the season possibly as soon as Thursday night or Friday. However, it has not strengthened over the last 24 hours.
Currently there are no watches or warning posted for this storm.
Since we've got a while to watch this one, it's a great reminder that we are entering what is historically the most active time of hurricane season between August 15th to October 15th.
