Book Lobbying Firm Hits $1M In Second Quarter

MIAMI (CBSMiami/NSF) --A firm led by prominent lobbyist Ron Book reported earning $1 million for legislative work during this year's second quarter.
Lobbying firms face a Friday deadline for reporting compensation from April 1st to June 30th, a period that included part of the regular legislative session and a June special session.
Compensation is typically reported in ranges, so exact overall totals are not disclosed.
Ronald L. Book PA earned at least $1 million, including $100,000 from client Performance Title Services Inc. and $100,000 from Title Clerk Consulting Company LLC, according to the compensation report posted on a state website on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the firm Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC reported Tuesday that it earned between $500,000 and $999,999 during the second quarter for lobbying the Legislature. That included bringing in $76,000 from U.S. Sugar Corp.
Also, in recent days, five firms reported collecting between $250,000 and $499,999 from legislative clients during the three-month period. Those firms were Anfield Consulting, Becker & Poliakoff PA, Gunster Yoakley & Stewart PA, Pittman Law Group PL and The Advocacy Group at Cardenas Partners LLC.
