Florio on Mathis: 'Willing to Wait Before He Takes Less'
What's the thinking with Evan Mathis still yet to sign with an NFL team?
"I think that right now he wants more money than anybody wants to pay him so he's willing to wait before he takes less than he wants," Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio said on the Joe Rose Show Friday. "And you can wait, you can wait and you can do the Brett Favre -- I'm gonna show up a week before the start of the regular season. You don't have to do Training Camp -- veteran players don't wanna do Training Camp. So why would Evan Mathis rush into any team right now? He's confident he can show up and get it done and so if he's gonna accept less than what he wants there's no reason to accept it now and I think that's what's going on.
