Marco Island Home Of 'Lion Killer' Vandalized

MARCO ISLAND (CBSMiami) -- The Florida home of the so called 'lion killer' has been vandalized.

According to Gossip Extra,  Walter Palmer's Marco Island home now has the words 'lion killer' spray painted on the garage door and the driveway was covered in pigs feet.

Palmer remains in hiding after there was public outrage over him killing Cecil the lion who was the mascot of Zimbabwe's national park system. Palmer allegedly, illegally baited the lion out of his reserve to try and kill it with arrows.  It is said Cecil suffered from an arrow wound for 40 hours before being put down, according to the site.

Local police said they are investigating the vandalism and are taking steps to protect Palmer's vacation property.

Palmer is back in the United States and has talked with authorities.
