Report: Tom Brady 'Destroyed' His Cell Phone; Suspension Will Be Upheld

The NFL is expected to announce within the next 24-48 hours that Tom Brady's four-game suspension over Deflategate will be upheld barring any last-minute changes, according to Stephen A. Smith, and the NFL has "no fear whatsoever" of Brady taking the case to federal court.

"Not only am I hearing that, I'm hearing some of the reasons why," Smith said on ESPN Tuesday morning. "Just to throw it out there. Remember when he had conversations about his text messages and refusing to show it, I'm hearing that Tom Brady actually destroyed his cell phone...

"The NFL is very, very confident that in their ruling he deserves a four-game suspension. From what I'm being told, they're not going to budge one bit."

For Joe Philbin and the Miami Dolphins, clawing for relevance in the Pats-dominated AFC East, this is probably pleasant news.
