Scoop Jackson: 'Still Have Reservations About LeBron's Commitment to the Game'

Interviews-wqam

LeBron James recently inked a deal with Warner Bros., further expanding his brand off the court, but does that affect his commitment on it?

"It falls in line with the statement he made when he first came in, saying he wanted to be a global icon," ESPN's Scoop Jackson said on the Freeman and Fox Show, "I do think LeBron James is the best player in the game but I still have reservations about his commitment to the game. And not necessarily commitment to conditioning, commitment to leadership... like just his commitment to focusing on basketball and getting the best that he can out of himself in the game of basketball."

"[The Finals] was the first time I've ever seen Lebron at least push himself, like he tried to max himself out. That's been always the biggest thing I've had with Shaquille O'Neal is that -- because LeBron and Shaq are so much bigger, physically bigger than everyone else, I didn't think they had to -- but last Finals was the first time I've ever seen LeBron max himself out, like really 'alright I'm gonna push myself to see how good I have to be in order to do this' and that's a commitment I've never seen from him."
