MIAMI (CBSMiami/NSF) -- Two Florida lobbying firms reported earning at least $250,000 for lobbying the Legislature within the last few months, according to a state website.

Lobbyist-compensation reports trickling in show the firms income from April 1st to June 30th.

The Fiorentino Group and The Mayernick Group each reported legislative-lobbying compensation from $250,000 to $499,999 during the year's second quarter.

Among a list of clients, The Fiorentino Group received between $20,000 and $29,999 from UF Health Jacksonville and from Surgical Care Affiliates, according to the firm's report posted online.

The Mayernick Group reported receiving between $20,000 and $29,999 from the Boyd Gaming Corp. and from Jacksonville Armada Football Club.

Lobbying firms are required by law to file quarterly reports about compensation they receive from clients.  In most cases, they report compensation in ranges --- rather than in specific dollar amounts.

Firms face a mid-August deadline for filing reports from the year's second quarter, which included half of the regular legislative session and a special legislative session.
